Eine Ecosphere ist ein kleines, in sich geschlossenes Ökosystem, welches ohne äußere Eingriffe überlebensfähig ist. Das Ganze ist sehr spannend und perfekt für Leute, die öfter mal vergessen, sich um ihre Haustiere zu kümmern. Ein Bspl. für eine solche Ecosphere ist ein kleines Aquarium mit speziellen Garnelen (Süßwassergarnelen), einer Alge und Wasser.
Die Garnelen ernähren sich von der Alge, die im Wasser befindlichen Bakterien verzehren die Ausscheidungen der Garnelen und produzieren so Nährstoffe für die Alge, welche das Wasser filtert und weiter wächst, umso wieder Nahrung für die Garnelen herzustellen. Zudem nehmen die Garnelen den Sauerstoff in sich auf, den die Alge herstellt und stellen somit den, für die Pflanze überlebenswichtigen, Kohlenstoffdioxid her. Das Ganze ist ein ewiger Kreislauf.
Zum ersten Mal wurde das vor ca. 120 Jahren von dem Naturforscher Robert Warington entwickelt, allerdings mit Goldfischen und Schlammschnecken.
Wenn ihr jetzt Interesse an eurem eigenen, kleinen, ewigen Ökosystem haben solltet, geht in ein Zoogeschäft. Das Ganze kosten so zwischen 100-1.500 Euro (je nach Größe, Besatz usw.) Holt euch vorher nochmal ein Handbuch, wo die genauen Zahlen zum Besatz, Algengröße usw. drin stehen.

An ecosphere is a small and closed ecosystem, which can even survive without any intervention. This aquarium-like construction definitely is for people who often forget to take care of their pets. One example of the ecosphere system is an aquarium filled with fresh-water shrimps, algae and water.
The shrimps feed on the algae. The bacteria in the water absorb the excretion of the shrimp and produce the nutrients which are essential for the algae. And the circle starts again. In addition, the shrimp absorb the oxygen produced by the algae, while producing the carbon dioxide vital for the algae.
For the first time, the ecosphere system was developed by the natural scientist Robert Warington 120 years ago who experimented with goldfish and freshwater snails.
If you are interested in one of these eternal ecosphere systems, then go to a pet shop. One aquarium can cost from €100 to €1500 depending on the size and the content. Get a handbook to inform yourself about the possibilities.
