Dave Brockie, lead singer of GWAR recently passed away. Now his signature costume, the one he wore at every single performance with his band GWAR got its very own honourable “funeral”. It was carefully put into a small dragon boat and pushed into the Hadad’s lake to be properly burned similar to the funerals of the Vikings.
Thousands of fans were present at the ceremony to pay their respects to their idol. Friend and colleague Randy Blythe thought this kind of ceremony was much more personal than the traditional funerals. The costume was the symbol of the alter ego of the musician. To see it going up in flames had much more meaning for him than a normal funeral service.
