Mastodon have not only announced a new album, they have also just released a new single as well as a music video! “Once More `Round The Sun” is due to be released on 24 June, and honestly, I’m very excited about it! I still don’t know whether it’ll be yet another concept album and which music genres will be included, but it’s certainly going to be good!
However, what I do know is that it will deal with the life of its members outside of the music scene. The new CD cover artwork is simply amazing! I don’t want to know what the artist was on when he designed this cover… And the new song, “Bedazzled Fingernails” and its music video can be described in just one word: cool!
The music video is a stop-motion clip in which the band members play their instruments as different characters from classic horror movies of the 50s and 60s. You can clearly detect a psychedelic influence. It leaves a softer impression, but it still fits perfectly within the whole theme.
