It may not be the talk of the town yet but all the hard work of Couture icon Marga Weimans will be sufficiently honoured by an exclusive exhibition in the Dutch Groninger museum dedicated to the artist.

Marga Weimans is handled as one of the best couturier on earth and now she’s finally being duly appreciated. Her work can be seen as drapery monuments with ever-changing mottos like “Wonderland” or “City Life”.  Her previous work includes “Power of my Dreams”, “Body Archive” and her everyday life collection “Aerial”. Since then (back in 2013) three new lines have been added.

Whilst some of the best known and most famous creations are from her notorious “Wonderland” collection, such as the highly praised Pink Bird, we must not forget her City Life collection in which the artist succeeded in incorporating sculptural looking female bodies into iron frames. Those are ought to be seen as a metaphor for a desk. The women are literally chained to their job and evidently this little trick turns her fashion into a show. Fabric, perfect models and a runway in the hands of Marga Weimans turns into a full blown performance, which makes this exhibition so worth your time. From June 15  until November 30, 2014 you can be a part of Marga Weimans’ world.
