As a graduate of the Parsons – the New School of Design – in New York, Andrea Diodati started her career designing for Electric Love Light. She only founded her own eponymous label in 2012. For her start in 2013, she collaborated with the label Anthrolologie. There, she added her colorful designs to her line “Made in Kind”. Since her solo run she was approached and supported by different media companies – Elle, Artforum, Susie Bubble, Runway Passport and many more.

Her new collection for spring 2014 is named “Let’s Dream”. There, she wants us to dream of a second childhood. The color palette doesn’t leave out any color, but switches between pastel ones and bold luscious ones.

You can often see patterns on the fabrics. Sometimes, they are bigger, sometimes they are marked by many details in a filigree way. You can find flowers which, during the childhood, were often seen on wallpapers, curtains or table cloths. The designs remind you of a lot of things which marked your childhood and leave room for speculations and associations. The motto is very well chosen. The many details, like for example on the neckline of a buttoned blouse, harmonize perfectly with the rest of the outfit.

Joe Zee, the creative director of the Elle, is right when he says that there have to be more people like Andrea Diodatis. The garments seem to be normal at first sight until one sees the details and starts to remember and dream.
