Bereits bei der Präsentation der Herbst- und Winter Haute Couture-Kollektion 2013 wurde festgestellt, dass Chanel zwar in die Zukunft blickt, aber trotzdem einen festen Fokus auf die Vergangenheit setzt.
So wird auch in der Frühlings- und Sommerkollektion 2014 wieder zunächst sehr viel mit dem altbewährten Tweed experimentiert. Als Markenzeichen des Labels wäre es schließlich ziemlich gewagt, ihn aus dem Sortiment zu werfen. Es wird auch wieder mit grob gewobenen und selbstgestrickten Stoffen gearbeitet, wie es in dem Ensemble aus Rock und Jacke zu bewundern ist.
Der Look spielt sich in einem Farbspektrum aus verschiedenen Pastellfarben ab. Diese mädchenhaften Farben dominieren auch die ganze Kollektion über und verwandeln den Laufsteg in eine Mischung aus Barbiehaus und Schlaraffenland. Die Jacke wird asymmetrisch zugeknöpft und ist locker geschnitten, genau wie auch der Rock.
Der Tweed wird aber bald zurückgelassen, wie bereits in der Haute Couture-Kollektion. Der anständige Charakter bleibt aber. Ein rosa Longsleeve wird mit einem weiten Rock kombiniert, welcher bis zu den Waden reicht. Er ist aus transparentem Stoff und durch eine zweite Lage von der Hüfte bis zu den Knien blickdicht gearbeitet worden. Einige weiße Punkte auf dem Oberteil sind mit Ketten miteinander verbunden. Von Weitem wirken sie wie Blumen.
Chanel zeigt also auch in der neuen Frühlings- und Sommerkollektion eine Starke Verbundenheit mit der eigenen Vergangenheit und trotzdem ein kühnes Auge,
gerichtet auf eine brillierende Zukunft.

Already when the Haute Couture Collection for Fall/Winter 2013 was presented, people knew Chanel is taking a look at the future, although still strongly focuses on the past.
Thus, for the Spring and Summer Collection 2014 the label again experiments a lot with the good old tweed. In fact, the label’s fingerprint is tweed cloth, so it would be quite keen to leave this out. Chanel further is working with coarse and handwoven cloths again, as you can admire in a perfect ensemble of a jacket and a skirt.
The look plays in a range of various pastel shades. These girly colors are outweighing other shades throughout the whole collection and turn the catwalk into a mix of a Barbie Villa and the land of milk and honey. The jacket is buttoned up asymmetrically and has a wide cut, just like the skirt
The tweed will soon be left behind however, as you already saw in the Haute Couture Collection. But the proper look stays. A pink long sleeve is combined with a wide skirt that reaches down to the calves. This skirt is made of transparent cloth and has a second layer reaching to the knees – thus making the skirt generally opaque. A few white dots on the top are connection with chains. From afar these look like flowers.
So with the new Spring and Summer Collection Chanel shows us a strong connection to their own past while having a keen eye, looking at a bright future.
