Eigentlich wollte sie ja Gebäude entwerfen, doch dann kam es anders und sie schlug den Weg der Mode ein. Ihre Wurzeln zur modernen Architektur erkennt man aber immer noch. Ihre Kollektionen zeigen generell klare Linien und Kontraste, ähnlich derer moderner Gebäude. Betont wird das durch den Einsatz von Form und Farbe.
Während wir uns erst mal auf den nahenden Winter vorbereiten und uns vor den Ofen zusammenkuscheln, hat Melissa Siegrist voraus gedacht und uns schon ihre Kollektion für kommendes Frühjahr und den Sommer präsentiert. Damit wir schließlich, wenn all der Schnee und das Eis geschmolzen sind, auch gleich etwas Schickes zum Anziehen haben.
Ebenso wie die Winterlinie ist die Sommerlinie minimal gehalten. Längsstreifen diktieren das allgemeine Bild, obwohl es auch hier und da Colorblocks gibt. Und auch hier, ähnlich wie zur kalten Jahreszeit, ist das Farbspektrum begrenzt: Weiß, Schwarz, Grau und Rosa, nicht mehr und nicht weniger.
Die Schnitte an sich wirken mehr als sportlich. Weite Hemden und Shorts sorgen für dieses Bild. Besonders erscheint ein kurzes T-Shirt in Schwarz, getragen über einem langen Hemd in Weiß: das Schicht-Prinzip. Ein unbeschwerter Sommer mit klaren Linien und puristischem Design steht uns also bevor.

Melissa Siegrist initially studied architecture before she decided to switch to fashion design. Her final women’s collection was marked by clear lines and masculine influences. What definitely makes Melissa Siegrist stand out is the fact that she founded a men’s fashion label after several internships in the fashion brand.
The fall and winter collection 2013 stands for clear and orderly placed lines and cleanly separated grey and blue nuances. This concept defines the general look of the collection. Colorblocking at its best combined with asymmetry definitely bring excitement into the assortment. Apart from the two colors grey and black, we can also see a lot of black and white. Melissa Siegrist keeps her clear shapes and lines, presenting a puristic look, which appears cold and unapproachable, definitely suitable for the cold season.
I personally think that the use of black leather sleeves on an ordinary sweater looks very appealing. The contrast definitely plays an important role, contributing a lot to the collection’s aesthetics. Another extremely well-made creation is a top which is embellished with a print. Said print consists of letters arranged in a circle. In general, the collection is definitely something you can wear on the street. This is young fashion which appeals to the modern man.
