War! What is it good for? It’s the cruelest and most inhuman thing we humans are capable of, and yet, we still wage war. All we end up doing is killing each other, and our methods get more and more creative each time. Land gets destroyed; villages and cities suffer diseases and famine.
“Pictures of War” is a record of all this terror. Over a time period of more than 100 years, all major conflicts have been presented through images of propaganda, executions, portraits of heroes and so on. At times, it gets terrible, cold-blooded and gruesome – much like war itself.
I would definitely recommend this book!
