Nicholas K is the label of two siblings. It was founded in New York by Nicholas and Christopher Kunz in 2003. Their first collection already gained much positive feedback and led them to create a ready-to-wear collection for women.
Today, they also offer menswear. Their garments are sold internationally. Nicholas is the responsible designer. She was the one who studied design at the FIT in New York and at the Polimoda in Florence.
After her studies, she worked for DKNY, became the co-founder of the Coach Men’s Sportwear and worked for several labels such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Polo for eight years. There, she gained many experiences. Her brother, Christopher, completes the team with his graduation in marketing and finance.
It could be that Christopher also worked for the designs for the spring/summer collection 2014. Who knows? The designs are very sporty and functional. Nevertheless, the design still plays a very important role. In general, the outfits are very dark and plain – black in black and beige in beige. What is very remarkable, are the fine differences – e.g. the waxed and unwaxed black color on the fabrics.
The collection shows clear lines and separations in the outfits. The functional elements are separated from the design. Nicholas K offers sophisticated fashion with subtle details for every man.
