JULIAANDBEN was founded by the designer Julia Heuse in 2008 directly after graduating from the ESMOD in Berlin. She combines street wear and concept wear for men and women with an attitude that is typical of Berlin. The cut is mixed of classical and sporty elements and results in a trendy cut that is suitable for daily life. Julia Heuse focuses on bleaching, hand-dying and even destroying her materials, inspired by the process of decay and transitoriness.  The collection is based on the colors black, white, gray and blue, which match the classical and casual look, because the minimalist color concept puts the cuts in the limelight.

Her latest summer collection focuses on graphic prints. Heuse used the opportunity to abstract graphical elements, so that they are perceived by the observer as a whole. The main part of the women’s collection consists of dresses with various silhouettes. You can find knitted dresses with a slim skirt here, or summery white ones. I prefer the folded dress due to the minimalist and asymmetric style of its skirt.

The main colors of the men’s collection are black and white. I really like the casually cut trousers and the slim jeans with an extraordinary allover print. Nonchalant pullovers made of transparent patchwork materials are predominant. All in all this collection by JULIAANDBEN offers beautiful and cozy fashion for men and women made of extravagantly handled materials.
