Das Label setzt auf Lebensfreude. Und wie kann dieses Gefühl besser zum Ausdruck gebracht werden, als mit jeder Menge Farben?! So präsentiert sich die Kollektion, als wäre sie in nicht bloß einen Farbtopf gefallen. Line Markvardsen entdeckte eine Marktlücke und gründete Edith&Ella, um diese zu füllen. Es waren ganz einfach zu wenig Farben in der Modewelt vorhanden. Als bunter Hund begann das Label seine Karriere in Kopenhagen. Heute hat es bereits neun Jahre und eine erfolgreiche Laufbahn hinter sich.
Obwohl im Herbst/Winter normalerweise eher düstere Farben Verwendung finden, arbeitet Edith&Ella für 2013 mit sonnigem Gelb und Himmelblau – denn wer will schon normal sein? Rot und Grün gesellen sich dazu und die Farbpalette ist komplett vertreten.
Aber damit nicht genug, es werden auch noch allesamt in einem Look verwendet und sogar mit Mustern experimentiert. Trotzdem passen die verrückten Designs dann irgendwie doch wieder zusammen. Ein schwarz-weißes Oberteil wird in einen grünen Bleistiftrock gesteckt. Dazu werden gelbe Strümpfe kombiniert und, damit man nicht frieren muss, ein rot-schwarz karierter Mantel darüber getragen. Die Schuhe sind blau und die Tasche, skurril wie die Farbenkombination, ist ein Würfel.
So viele Farben bekommt man wirklich selten auf einmal zu Gesicht. Edith&Ella macht es endlich wieder möglich, Farben zu tragen und sich daran zu erfreuen. Die ganze Welt muss eben doch nicht schwarz-weiß sein, es braucht auch ein paar bunte Hunde.

The label’s slogan is the joy of living. And is there a better way to express this feeling than with a lot of colors? This is how the collection presents, it’s like the garments fell into a bucket of colors. Line Markvardsen found a market gap and founded Edith&Ella in order to fill it. There were simply too few colors in the fashion world. With a lot of colors the label started in Kopenhagen. Now the label has existed for already nine years and has had a very successful resume.
Even though Fall/Winter are usually connected to dark colors, Edith&Ella thought it would be much better to have a sunny yellow and a sky blue for their 2013 collection – because who wants to be part of the grey matter? Red and green are also part of it and the range of colors is completely there.
But this is not it, they even experiment with patterns and a whole new look. Still the crazy designs always seem to fit perfectly. A black and white top is put into a green pencil skirt. In addition there are yellow socks and so you don’t get a cold, there is a red and black plait coat for this outfit. The shoes are blue and the purse, as crazy as the color combination, is a square.
You rarely see so many colors at once. Edith&Ella finally make it possible to wear colors and to have fun not being grey and black in winter. The whole world doesn’t have to be black, it always need a few colored dogs out there.
