Since his femme collection for the autumn and winter 2014, Alejandro Carlin has already proven that full-blooded femininity is his forte. The popularity of the designer has been steadily rising since his graduation from the Central Saint Martins in London, and not without a reason: his collections have an essentially feminine style. Partly sexy and seemingly made for a femme fatale; partly sophisticated and elegant with iconic wide pants which emphasize good figures similar to that of Marlene Dietrich.

He always adds variety while staying true to his style, which that is certainly the case for his S/S 14 collection. It displays courage with colours, as can be seen from its glowing yellow and royal blue creations. Airy, casual cuts with an extremely elegant style, coupled with bright colours, give it not only a tinge of a “modern city look”, but also a particularly chic and festive character. This is possibly due to the shimmering satin fabrics that were used – they give the already elegant collections an additional spice.

My personal highlight lies in the details such as the oversized, sophisticated ruffles and laser-cut patterns in a lacy style. These indicate the amount of attention given to the details hidden in the collection by Alejandro Carlin.
