Bhalo is a very special highlight of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney. Therewith, Sydney shows its fair side to the fashion business.  It was founded by Shimul Minhas from Bangladesh and Jessica Priemus from Australia only in 2009. This label works with fair-trade fabrics that have been decorated by hand. With this project they do not only support poor, rural regions, but also set an international example.

The style seems to be very cute. This impression is mostly demonstrated by light pastel colors and girly designs. This includes blouses with curled seams or simple, short dresses. These designs truly convey a very innocent impression and, hence,  rather approach young wearers. The dresses are often separated into different color sections or show geometric patterns, which also consist of very contrasting colors.

Bhalo (Bengali for “good”) is a really good thing that does not only make its wearers happy, but also the craftsmen.
