Designer Ülle Suurhans-Pohjanheimo has a distinct modern and straight-forward idea of couture for ladies. In the Baltic States the designer already is famous for her craftsmanship and knowledge concerning different cloths and garments. Thus, she is clothing politicians as well as famous persons. Ülle also is cherished for her commitment as a fashion expert when working with clients.

Her current summer collection, which Ülle Suurhans-Pohjanheimo already presented at the Riga Fashion Week  2014, once again unites many fashion facets a lady may have while staying true to the minimal Scandinavian design. The beige colored and snappy Tailleur grants a lady a dynamic appearance and with the nooks this design also is defined with a challenging aspect. One of my favorite garments by Ülle plays with an untypical silhouette for women. The rounded and soft oversize design of the dress, in combination with the large sewn-on pockets lets the dress look like a kind of white coat. I really love the odd aspect which comes from this design.

One thing that is especially worth mentioning however is that the designer chose rather muted colors for her Summer Collection 2014. It’s a mix of whine red, black, aubergine as well as a greyish brown looking metallic fabric among the timeless classics like beige, off-white white and rosé.

Ülle Suurhans-Pohjanheimo perfectly combines this shining and sparkling fabric with sequins in the muted colors in a harmonious way.
