Lydia Lavin does not miss out on anything. Her portfolio shows brief, sexy beach wear for her and for him, casual street wear, mainly for women, but also for men and even bridal wear! She even manages to integrate the indigenous history of Mexican textiles and designs into her collections.

Lydia Lavin has always fought for research and preservation of cultural identity. She is someone who proudly shows her vision of fashion to the world. This is going to be the sixth time for her to join the  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week México. She also succeeded internationally at the MBFW in Buenos Aires and at the Fashion Fair in Madrid. For me Lydia Lavin is kind of an allrounder, considering the fact that she gained experiences as a fashion and graphic designer with the focus on marketing.

A beautiful turquoise can be distinguished in the entire summer collection and lets Lydia’s fashion shine bright. Lydia mostly defines her fashion with the choice and certain arrangement of colors. This approach of design ressembles the heraldry where the choice of colors and materials for your emblem reveals your origin and belief.

The turquoise casual outfit  paired with a striped jacket and the asymmetrically cut dress with applications on the shoulders impresses me the most. For me it’s the embodiment of the combination between indigenous culture and a modern fashion style. On the third day of the MBFW, she will show us more of her fascinating work.
