razer switches

Yesterday, Razer presented their very own mechanical switches for keyboards. Mechanical keyboards have so called “switches”, which are usually manufactured by Cherry. A switch is the part of the keyboard you press. There are soft ones, strong ones, loud ones and silent ones in the Cherry MX familiy. I’ve got the mechanic Steelseries 6Gv2 with “Cherry MX Black” switches.

And now there’s even the perfect mechanical keyboard marketed under the name “Black Widow” for gamers! Razer was very fussy about the build quality, reliability and the perfect pressure point (the pressure point determines how strong and how far you have to press the key in order to activate it).

Unfortunately, Razer has only released their keyboards with new switches in the US-American layout. However, it shouldn’t take too long until us Europeans can also enjoy this masterpiece.

Here’s a the promotional video of the new Razer switches.
