Siwen Jian, who originally comes from China, left her home country to study in England. The Central Saint Martins finally led her to choose fashion design for her career. Now, she finally has arrived with her master’s degree at the Royal College of Arts. Siwen Jian is known as a creative and passionate woman when it comes to her work. She constantly forces herself to come up with more innovative ideas for designs. There are no limits for her. She gives herself the most difficult tasks, always believing in herself.
One of the results is her impressing collection which is named “Collection 11”. Here, she was inspired by the architect Frank Gehry. She was amazed by his way of transforming sturdy materials into flowing and soft shapes. This is what she also wanted in her collection.
The statement piece is one of the dresses. It’s a vest which normally would be worn with a suit and which is transformed into a very feminine dress with much volume and draped roses. The roses can be found in every design. They build volume in the sleeves, in another outfit they decorate the sides. The designer makes it possible to wear this design with all kinds of outfits by creating a scarf of black roses.
Siwen Jian proves her high expectations to herself, but also proves her expertise to achieve them. The very feminine signature makes us long for more.
