The designer just finished her studies in 2011 at the university of art and design in Savannah. Sook Kim originally comes from South Korea. As a designer she especially is interested in Nature and keeps a strong sense of minimalism. The collection of Sook Kim is called “Beauty of Fullness”.  Here she was inspired by the blooming hibiscus. She was featured in the “Savannah Magazine” with her artistic collection and was also presented in the ELLE Fashion Next.

For this collection, the designer occupied with the fragile bloom of the hibiscus and interprets these onto fabrics. In doing so, she sewed over 50 small pieces of silk satin and organza together. She also used origami to construct those shapes more sturdy. The dresses itself are rather minimalist. All the complex embellishments are not distracted by the use of a clear white shade. The waist is emphasized with a tight hem which is almost shaped like a heart. The other dress however has a round shape and seem exciting with its folds from its straps to the skirt.

Although these dresses already seem interesting in a plain white and the outstanding silhouettes, the focus is clearly on the embellishments which show the hibiscus blooms in purple or wine read.
