The young designer just recently finished her studies at the Central Saint Martins. She mixes up her affection for knitting and her interest in contrasts. The collection of Magnea Einarsdóttir is called “Opposites Attract”. She got her inspiration of dawns where the day meets the night.
Thus the whole collection is about contrasts. Organic and synthetic fabrics are used and colors switch between black-white and colorful just like the sunlight first meets the darkness of the night.
Dresses are loosed cut and are mostly knee length and never expose any décolleté. And the focus is definitely on contrasts. Even the knitting lines hints some contrasts. The alternate directions create different lines which affects the silhouette. With that she breathes a dynamic feel into the rusticate knitwear.
Magnea Einarsdóttir creates optical illusions with her collection. She works with contrasts which attracts people’s attention but are not intrusive in any way. She keeps the harmonious character of her collection.
