In one of my previous articles I introduced you to the Dolce & Gabbana runway designs for women. Today I’d like to focus on the runway looks of SS15 for men. Core as well as highlight will be the suit in all its glory. That means the whole show: pants, shirt and of course, the jacket that has been completely re-vamped by Dolce & Gabbana. You might see the style of the before mentioned vivacious torero peeking through.
But first, let us take a moment and talk about the suit. You won’t be able to find your “classic” suit amongst the great designs by D&G. This line is all about being special, so they focused on trendy patterns and electrifying shades. Similar to the women’s collection, you’ll find black, white and red as the colors of choice here – but also shimmery fabrics that highlight botanic patterns. That’s the reason why suits in an allover print by D&G appear to be ostentatious and royal.
The two colors that you can by far spot the most are a deep blood red and wine red, both of which embellished with beautiful embroideries. In this case, jackets are the center of attention. For that reason they are adorned and decorated massively.
Harsh contrasts to the glamour of the well-designed suits in this collection are the oversize shirts, hoodies and boleros, whilst you won’t spot a lot of decorations, the cut screams casual street wear. It’s a successful mix-and-match look with a masculine and royal glamour effect.
