CeliaB wurde von einer Frau gegründet, die das Reisen liebt. Im Streifzug durch die fremden Länder, verschiedenen Kulturen und das bunte Treiben der Welt entwickelt sie ihre Kollektionen.
So heißt die Sommerkollektion 2014 auch L’été Indien – der Indische Sommer. Dieser zeigt sich wohl genauso farbenfroh und durcheinander wie ein Stand an einem Gewürzbazar. Currygelb und Paprikarot werden von verschiedenen Mustern durchwachsen und in Schwingung gebracht.
Die Schnitte sind dementsprechend auch oft etwas traditionell angehaucht. Es scheint, als würde sich die Designerin nicht bloß farblich von verschiedenen Kulturen inspirieren lassen. Der Eckige Ausschnitt wird von zwei breiten Trägern begrenzt, welche sich über Kreuz den Rücken entlang schließen. An ihnen sind kleine Rüschen befestigt – praktisch wie eine alte Schoß. Mit den vielen verschiedenen Farben und Mustern wiederum wirkt es wie das Kleid einer modernen Pipi Langstrumpf.
Durch die vielen Reisen ist das Label aber nicht bloß von Kleidungs- und Farbkultur inspiriert, sondern auch von den vorherrschenden Textilien und Handwerken. Dies zeigt sich vor allem auch bei einer pinken Jacke. Sie besteht aus Plastik und Häkelarbeit. Dabei sind die Plastikteile, die den Vorderteil ausmachen, zerstückelt und durch Häkeln wieder zusammengenäht. Es entstehen dabei eigentlich Narben auf der Jacke. So wird das alte Handwerk neu interpretiert und modern integriert.
CeliaB führt mit ihren schrillen Designs einmal um die Welt und spielt dabei ständig „Ich packe in meinen Koffer…“ und nimmt von überall etwas mit. Die Ergebnisse sind intensiv und strotzen vor Fröhlichkeit.

CeliaB was founded by a woman who loves travelling. During her journeys to foreign countries, different cultures and exotic places all around the world, she develops the concepts for her collections.
Thus, it’s almost no wonder that her summer collection in 2014 is called L’été Indien- the Indian summer. This Indian summer is presented in a very colorful way by the brand just like a spice market. Curry yellow and pepperoni red are installed into different patterns and make them exciting.
The cuts accordingly are inspired by Indian traditional fashion. It seems as if the designer doesn’t only make use of the colors and patterns of the cultures she paid a visit. The angular neckline is framed by two broad straps, which lead to the back where they cross each other. Quillings are attached to them and make the dress look very girly. Furthermore, the dress is adorned with many different colors and patterns, which leaves a cheeky impression reminding you of a modern Pippi Longstocking.
Thanks to the designer’s many journeys, the label is not only inspired by cultural patterns and colors. Her love for travelling also influenced the choice of fabrics and the craftsmanship which defines the production of the clothing. We spotted one pink jacket which presents these important characteristics well. The jacket consists of plastic pieces of which the front of the jacket is made of. The pieces are attached to each other by crocheting. In this way, crocheting- an ancient type of craftsmanship – is reinvented and modernly integrated into the production of the clothing.
CeliaB leads us to new worlds with her designs, constantly playing the travelling game “I packed my suitcase and in it I put…” with us. Every time, she travels, she always tries to install her new discoveries into her fashion. The result is fashion which is intensive and drips with happiness.
