Ayamé wurde 2007 von dem Japaner Aya Agaoka gegründet. Das Label füllt eine bisherige Lücke auf dem Fashion- und Textilmarkt aus…denn es stellt Socken her. Und nicht nur irgendwelche Socken, nein, Qualitätssocken im quirligen, funkigen Hipster Look. Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit erfahrenen Handwerkern konnte Ayamé 3-Dimensionalle Muster von den Strickmaschinen auf die Socken übertragen und sie mit Tiefe und Kontur versehen. Die Socken kommen entweder einfarbig oder bunt und gemustert daher, doch das ist nicht das Außergewöhnliche. Das wirklich Auffällige ist, dass sie eine zum Muster passende Struktur besitzen. Egal ob Raute, Dreieck oder organische Form, das 3-Dimensionale Muster lässt sich auf der Socke als herausragendes Highlight anfassen und sehen. Der dadurch erzielte Look ist wirklich einzigartig. Während die Herrensocken allesamt knöchellang sind, gibt es bei den Damen Kniestrümpfe und Strümpfe, welche bis über die Wade reichen.
Neben Socken werden auch Schals gefertigt. Das Prinzip ist aber ähnlich. Auch hier sind die Muster mit unterstreichenden Strukturen versehen. Die Farbpalette reicht weit und es gibt kaum eine Farbe, die nicht vertreten ist. Dabei sind sie innerhalb eines Musters gut aufeinander abgestimmt, sodass sie ein stimmiges Gesamtbild erzeugen.

Ayamé was founded by the Japanese Aya Agaoka in the year 2007. The label filled a niche which had existed on the fashion and textile marked for many years: The brand Ayamé produces socks. But it doesn’t fabricate any socks. No, these socks are high-quality socks in a funky and bubbly look. With the help of the collaboration between many experienced craftsmen Ayamé was able to apply 3-dimensional patterns on the socks using knitting machines. Therefore, the patterns on the socks have contours and depth. The socks come in a plain-colored version, but colorful and patterned ones are available as well. This however isn’t the only thing which makes Ayamé so unique. What makes the socks outstanding is the fact that the patterns seem to have a matching 3-dimensional structure. Be it a rhombus, a triangle or organic shapes, the 3-dimensional pattern transforms the socks into an “outstanding” highlight. The look which is achieved with this effect is truly unique. While the men’s socks are ankle-high, women can indulge in knee socks and socks which reach the middle of the calf.
Apart from socks, scarves are fabricated as well. The principle which the scarves follow is similar. Here, the patterns are underlined with structures as well. The color palette is extensive. There barely is a color, which is not available. Within the patterns however, the colors are well chosen and positioned, creating a harmonic overall image.
