In 2008 the two Americans Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters founded their LabelCreatures of the Wind. They previously completed their studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Gabier then moved to Antwerp in Belgium and worked there for Jurgi Persoons In Chicago, Peters assisted the artistNick Cave. Inspired by the name of their label, the two of Johnny Mathis’ song “Wild is the Wind”.
The collections are inspired by music and culture. Nature also plays an important role and is reflected in forms of flower motifs. Bright colors are not to be seen, instead many earth and pastel tones.
