Hello fellow beauty lovers.
I asked for the beauty advent calendar by Karstadt this year because I heard they collaborated with L’oréal and I was all up for that. Plus I have had the one by Douglas for the last couple of years and I really wanted a change. A whole month has gone by now and I’d like to use this article to review the advent calendar for you guys.
The calendar retailed for 25,95€ on the online Karstadt page, which means the price was identical to the one of the beauty advent calendar by Douglas, though that one got reduced to 19,95€ later on. My calendar promised 23 luxury samples and 1 full size product by brands like Lancôme, Biotherm, YSL and Giorgio Armani. The price/quality ratio seemed to be on point to me at first. But after running through half of the calendar I noticed incredible similarities to my calendar of the last years. There were a whole lot of fragrance samples as well as skin care by Biotherm and Lancôme. The luxury miniature samples were basically the ones you get as an extra goodie if your purchase something online.
I think this calendar would be great for someone, who hasn’t had a beauty advent calendar by Douglas before. The samples have the perfect size for travelling and I’d be lying if I’d say that I didn’t use mine from last year. I only am slightly gutted because the products were almost identical to the ones I had by Douglas. Even the full size product was the same one! Nonetheless I’d definitely recommend this one for Christmas 2015 to you if you haven’t had one before because the price/quality ratio is good.
