Fashion Trends 2014/15: Moving Art 2.0 – Artful Spectacle on the Runways

In early March, we talked about the symbiosis of painting and fashion. Back then, labels such as Céline, Chanel and Jil Sander and their SS14 collections were the pioneers regarding stylistic devices. With the fall and winter collections, many established labels and designers have followed their example. These include among others Prada, Burberry, Valentino’s Popart RTW, Bottega softly Veneta and Marni, who dedicated their collections to painting.

While Burberry performs under the title “Bloomsbury Girls”, which is inspired by painter Duncan Grant, Marni works together with the Dresdener Bauhaus style; and also one of the fashion highlights, Bottega Veneta, shows up in a clear structure, in a dynamic, jagged way. Terrific! More subtle versions, which also include the patch style, are offered by fashion label Proenza Schouler.

One of the labels that awaits us with a unpredictable surprise will be surely Sportmax, which attracts attention with wild, expressionist prints à la Jackson Pollock. Enough of words, let the art speak:
