Oh, Studio Ghibli. Already as a little child your films took me far away to explore a culture that seemed so strange to me- but still attracted me with its mysteries. You showed me that even children’s movies can have depth. With “Princess Mononoke“ you broke my delicate heart for the very first time and now you’re doing it again closing your doors forever.
The most serious reason for this decision could be that it lost its competitiveness. Now Ghibli will be converted into a one-man company that only takes care of licenses.
So I’d like to thank you now! For all those wonderful moments I experienced watching your films and for taking me on a journey to faraway lands!
