On July 17th the French label Faguo celebrated its establishment on the German and Austrian market in Düsseldorf.
At the young age of 22, the two founders both came across the idea to create shoes with the focus on the aspect of sustainability during their semester abroad in China. The name “Faguo” too originates from the Chinese language and means nothing but “France”.
In 2009, the two French entrepreneurs started the project Faguo and fought for the protection of the environment with their commitment. For each sold pair of sneakers, the brand planted one tree in France and managed to afforest the French green areas to a great extent. The idea definitely met with a lot of positive feedback, which was clearly reflected by the sales figures of the sneakers. Although only 5000 pairs of sneakers were produced for the first half of the debut year, they were sold out within a few months. Since then, Faguo seems to be not only climbing the top of the street wear fashion industry on a national base. Instead, they are becoming more and more successful in entire Europe. More than 300 000 trees have been planted by now thanks to the trendy sneakers.
The Eco sneakers are produced under fair working conditions in China where the workers are taken care of. There, they earn a wage which enables them to live properly.
The collection for the spring and summer 2015 presents itself in a minimalist design made of cotton. A rubber sole tops off the design. By the way, many models were created with the help of artists. After stopping by at the Panorama Berlin, the label will present their new collection at the GDS in Düsseldorf . The Goodiez GmbH with Rainer Fokkens as the CEO will be responsible for the marketing of the sneakers together with other articles of selected and unique labels.
We could experience the rollout in the Riverloft Atelier in Düsseldorf near the idyllic Schwanenspiegel and the Kaiserteich. TV presenter Samira Frassa was present and was joined by many inspiring guests who all enjoyed delicious tarte flambée. But of course, the refreshing summer collection 2015 was the star of the entire event.
