Hello fellow beauty lovers.

Let me introduce you to one of my holy grails: The Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay. I am sure that you guys have heard plenty about this little gem but I wanted to add my two cents to the pile. A couple of months ago I went to Paris and bought this little beauty at Sephora. Let’s find out whether or not it was worth the 25 bucks.

Outer Appearance | Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

The size and weight of this palette is comparable to an iPhone 4. The bronzed packaging looks incredibly sophisticated and is extremely sturdy. Once you open it you can’t help but notice the big mirror inside, which is extremely helpful especially if you want to touch up your make up. Regarding the packaging I can’t help but give it the highest score because it looks sublime on my dressing table. I love how it is secure as well as pretty.

The Product | Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Let’s talk content, shall we? The Naked Basics Palette contains 6 shades all together. They are all earthy and matte, except for one color. On the far left we find Venus, the very one shade that has shimmery particles in it. It is mostly used as a highlighter under the brow. The next one is called Foxy and is my personal favorite. I use it to neutralize the color of my lids and to suck out all of the left over oil on them. The color W.O.S is a little bit on the pinker side and would be a great base for cooler skin tones.  Naked 2 is the perfect crease shade for me. I use this grey/taupe shade to create a three-dimensional look. Faint is a beautiful, warm brown and can also be used in the crease or to turn your day look into a sultry smokey eye. Crave is a jetblack matte shade and can be used as a soft liner or even in the crease to intensify the look.

They all are incredibly blendable and have an amazing texture. They don’t crack or leave residues and are very well pigmented…

Overall impression Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I paid 25€ for this little gem and I would repurchase it again and again. The palette is used daily in this household and I can’t imagine not using it anymore. The best thing about it is how incredibly travel-friendly it is. It is a tiny palette with a great content. You can just pick it up and carry it around because it weighs nothing. And 6 shades may not seem sufficient at first glance but I promise you, 6 shades are all you need to create amazing looks, no matter if you prefer more muted looks like I do or a more dramatic style.

Yours truly,

Lana Hoang
