Another week in July is now over and that means we have our weekly get-together where we sit and talk about topics picked out of the buzzing beauty world. I’ve got a real good one in my pocket, it evolves around: “Tittooing”. Breasts have been on the “please, enhance” list for decades. But now nipples are the talk of the town. The term “Tittooing” is a combination of well, tits and tattooing. Doctors, however, prefer the term “micropigmentation” because this is precisely what it is. With the aid of special needles, ink is inserted into our skin, similar to the procedure of permanent makeup.
This procedure costs about 600€ – 800€ and is often done out of aesthetic reasons. Especially women with larger breasts let them inked to reach a kind of symmetry or just to get a different nipple color. However, some love taking things to the top. Star and heart-shaped nipples often are requested as well.
Well, tattooing might be regarded as a kind of fashion trend right now but there’s so much more to the story than it first seems.
To this day 70% of all patients undergo the painful procedure because they suffered from breast cancer and lost their one breast or both in the process of it. “Tittooing” is a chance for those women to recreate their breasts as naturally as possible or to simply make them beautiful again. Vinnie Myers is a tattoo artist from the USA who is able to reconstruct breast nipples with ink. And trust me, the results look stunningly realistic.
P.INK on the other hand is a non-profit organization which wants to improve the life of breast cancer patients by tattooing wonderful colourful artworks on the women’s breasts to give them back their former beauty.
