1970, Sonia Rykiel was at the peak of success in the fashion world. Especially her knitwear was highly praised. Nowadays, this label continues their tradition and also shows playful and feminine fashion for spring and summer 2014. The new collection though, has a very neat vibe. The skirts go over the knees and even the shoulders are often covered. They aim for the balance between formfitting and casual wear; also, the color palette is limited to pastel colors and gentle nuances.
They’re quite reminiscent of sweets and evoke a sugar sweet and innocent image with their stylish dresses. In this collection, especially the geometric lines and floral prints are standing out. So do the draped dresses which create a contrast to the tight-fitting, structured pencil skirts.
Of course, this label presents knitwear as the highlight of their newest collection as well. The designs seem very elegant because of the shimmering yarn, which was incorporated into the fabric, and the knitting method, which combines two different textures. There, the front of the bottom part is a little sheer.
