Kate Sylvester ’s creations seem to show today’s ideal modern woman. She’s a Wonder Woman in the shape of an ordinary mortal who knows how to dress up. She’s intelligent, self-confident and knows how to control her job, cohabitee and family and looks amazing. Despite her strength which can move mountains, she still isn’t afraid of showing her feminine, almost girly side. She even emphasizes it. Pretty incarnations of this image of a power woman are shown by the New Zealand designer Kate Sylvester on the catwalk at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney .

Her creativity is reflected by two lines, “Sylvester” and “Kate Sylvester”. Both are marked by femininity and nostalgia which remind of the 50ies or 60ies. The “Kate Sylvester” line is a little more feminine, more mature and more elegant. The results are body jackets, chequered mini-skirts, graceful long evening gowns with a deep neckline, but really masculine-like pants suits for an amazing business look. Today’s woman isn’t only a housewife.

The “Sylvester” line impresses with a youthful, rebellious charm which, however, isn’t less feminine at all. Again, you will feel the 50ies and 60ies, which are embodied by rock ’n’ roll elements. A brunet beauty is mesmerizing us either in front of a vintage motorbike or on it. No matter whether she wears feminine, short dresses or a nonchalant ensemble of casual, rolled up jeans and t-shirt – the biker boots, which add a wild touch, are always essential.

It’s obvious that Kate Sylvester knows how to show the strong side of a woman while emphasizing her beauty.
