The label Tanya Taylor was founded in New York, but the designer is originally from Toronto, Canada. After graduating in the financial sector, Tanya decided to change her path of life and studied fashion design at Parsons in New York.
She was affected by all her travels and journeys she experienced with her family while she was a child and tries to put her own way of thinking about femininity into the fashion world. Tanya was confronted with all kinds of femininity throughout her childhood. She wants her collection to portrait the woman herself without the consideration of age.
Her collection made it onto the catwalk in 2011. Before, she gained experiences at the label Elizabeth and James. With her leap into independence, she asked herself a moral question and answered it with the production of her collections just in Manhattan.
Her collection for spring and summer 2014 is an ode to all colors. You rarely see any pieces presented without a color – Sometimes more and sometimes less colorful.
The designer seems to be master in terms of using patterns and prints in an aesthetic way. The collection starts with stripe patterns to dots, which appear like a flock of birds and ends with flower patterns. Although her prints are more filigree sometimes and other times seem bolder, the designs always stay geometric.
The collection of Tanya Taylor covers almost every type, whereas she always keeps her own signature maintained. Her designs are definitely true eye catchers!
