According to Ola Källenius, member of the divisional managing board, Mercedes is prepared to bring in incredible new innovations to keep up with the surplus. Especially the E- and S-series, which are well-loved by their long-term customers, will contribute to their success.

“The new generation of the much loved C-series will be launched in spring. The first compact SUV (under GLA) by Mercedes-Benz will guarantee new customers for the brand.”

Sales in Europe were also blooming. The revenue there increased by 5,9% (40.830 cars). The success was big, especially in the UK (+15,1%) and Russia (+42,5%). Compact cars are essentially the ones that are responsible for the increase in Europe. Germany shipped over 13.595 vehicles to customers, (+8,4%) and guarantees the top position for the brand with the star in Germany.

Mercedes is now officially market leader in the States after having sold 22.604 vehicles in the New Year. Another record was scored in Canada with an increase of 30,1%. In Japan however Mercedes still remains the best-selling import premium brand. Numbers over numbers show the big success in Asia. 73,4% in Japan, 44,9% increase in China and Hong Kong, 54% in India and 89,5% in South Korea.
