A young designer who comes from Portland in the United States who now lives in New York. Luciana Grimaldi discovered her love for fashion in the city of her choice and decided to create fashion for her which she embodies herself. She is in the middle between two different world and dedicates herself to them while creating her own looks inspired by them. On the one hand, she is a fine and sophisticated lady and on the other hand she is attracted by hard beats of the Hip Hop lifestyle. You can exactly see the melting between those in her collection “Black Tie Optional”.
She combines her affection to neoprene and her enthusiasm for the fashion of the late 40s and early 50s. A sporty melting is created – especially with her use of materials, colors and details. At the same time an elegant feel is emphasized by silhouettes. Those designs are harmoniously creates with the combination of pink, yellow-green and black. A mermaid style dress seems incredibly exciting with its sporty lines.
With her collection, Luciana Grimaldi actually translated her life into clothing. The back and forth between elegance and sportiness is combined into one and a totally new style is created.
