First Aid Kit are two musicians from Stockholm. The musicians Klara and Johanna Söderberg are siblings. First Aid Kit is considered a mix of folk and indie-pop/rock. Their songs and music videos are often inspired by Norse folklore such as midsummer, doll incineration and mystic animals. So you can even say their style has Nordic-Folk in it as well.

Similarly to the Nordic design, their songs are clear and don’t sound too jammed. Two voices, an acoustic guitar and sometimes there’s keys. That’s it.

Their very first EP was released in 2008 and got a really illustrious name: “Drunken Trees”. Two years after their first EP, First Aid Kid released their first album. “The Big Black and the Big Blue” was released as a teaser for the album showed their distinctive style. When the highly coveted album “The Lions Roar” finally arrived, it instantly hit #1 in the Swedish Charts and #35 in the UK Charts.

Ever since, First Aid Kit were nominated for a lot of awards in Scandinavia and were even able to get a few. However, I am more than certain that they’re getting closer to their international success day by day! We can assume that First Aid Kid’s new album will be released this summer. I’m hyped already! Until then, I’ll keep listening to my favorite song: “Wolf”
