Those of you, who are familiar with „Monuments Men” starring George Clooney know that the main focus of the movie is on the allied group that tries to protect the most precious artwork from the Nazis. The same goes for Sophie Nélisse in the role of “Liesel” in the blockbuster “The Book Thief”. The 9-year-old girl grew up under the watchful eyes of her foster parents Hans and Rosa. After being taught how to read by the Jewish boy Max, she gets lost in countless stories and decides to steal books in order to protect them from the big book burning ceremony conducted by the Nazis in 1933. She stores the books in her basement until the before mentioned Nazis decide to pay her a little visit…
