Dan Sullivan, bescheidener Gründer von Irregular Choice war einer der wenigen, die von Anfang an erkannt haben, dass die heutige Schuhindustrie immer neutraler, dunkler und anders ausgedrückt: einfach langweilig wurde. Dan wusste aber auch, dass es eine starke Nachfrage nach gewagteren, individuellen und farbigen Exemplaren gab – die Leute wollten etwas tragen, was sie mit Stolz erfüllte.
Dan wurde in einer spektakulären Ära geboren: den 70ern in London, England – auch bekannt als die wilde Punk-Ära und diese Erfahrungen prägten ihn bis zum heutigen Tag. Mit Hilfe seiner Eltern konnte er an seinen ohnehin schon ausgeprägten Design-Talenten feilen bis er entschied, mit 18 Jahren seinen eigenen Laden aufzumachen und kurze Zeit später die Welt zu erkunden. Nach einem Trip nach China, um die Produktionsarbeiten zu studieren, kam er zurück, die Taschen voll mit reichen Erfahrungen, um Irregular Choice im Jahre 1999 zu gründen.
Und hier sind wir nun. Ich habe eine Auswahl von den tollsten Exemplaren, wie ich finde, aus allen Kollektionen zusammengetragen. Ich hoffe sie gefallen euch.
Die Frauenkollektion ist alles, nur nicht langweilig. Ich bin mir sicher, mit einem Paar Schuhe von Irregular Choice läuft Frau keine Gefahr, dass sie eine andere in der Stadt trifft, die die gleichen Schuhe trägt wie sie. Die Modelle sind farbenfroh, ungemein auffällig und erfrischend individuell.

Dan Sullivan, humble creator of Irregular Choice was one among the few who saw that the footwear market was becoming quite neutral, black and frankly: boring. He knew that there was a global demand for something more daunting, individual – something to wear with pride. He created the label as a reason to stand out from the crowd and boy oh boy did he succeed.
He was born into the wild world of the 70’s in London – also known as the Punk era which influences his work up until today. With aid of his parents he went under a hard training in their footwear industry early on until he decided to open up his own store and closing it after 5 years to explore the world. He went to the far east to get a better look on the production cycle for footwear which gave his perspective an even faster and broader design view.
Together with his parents he came up with an equation which allowed him to be as expressive ash he could possibly be without having to yield the prices up. Hence, Irregular Choice was born. I gathered some of my favorites from the Dan Sullivan collection to show you’re his take on things. Enjoy!
The Women’s collection is everything but plain. I’m sure that you can walk down the high street with one of Irregular Choice’s shoes on your feet without running into somebody who has the same pair on as you are. The shoes are colorful, incredibly bold and refreshingly individual.
