This time we’re not talking about labels or designers who invite people for a celebration. No, Karakas is an establishment for designers, artists and other ordinary people who are into understatement and anonymity. http://www.karakas-bar.com/

There’s no shame in dancing, drinking and spending time together in the evenings while listening to music, like Lucy Pearl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKAcLTMBVak

The trashy, undone, post-war design is exactly what party people of the elite are looking for to break out of the daily routine. Karakas is reminiscent of an exotic basement party room because the bar down there was a former South American get-together site for the evenings. The living-room flair of the next room magically attracts people and it’s even better with the sparse and well-proportioned 80s-style furniture and the yellow seventies floor luminaires.

The line in front of the club speaks for itself and the inside is even more stuffed with a capacity of about 150 guests.

Our conclusion: There’s a very pleasant atmosphere. Also, it’s easy to get there by public transportation (Kurfürstenstraße 9 10785 Berlin – Tiergarten), though the prices for drinks can get rather high. Nevertheless, it’s worth a visit and we wish the Karakas much success.
