There is hardly anyone who doesn’t know the sensational story of Mowgli, the jungle child who is separated from his parents and brought up by animals in the Indian jungle. This fantastic story comes from a collection of stories by British author Rudyard Kipling, who filled his most important work, The Jungle Book, with these stories.

However, it was particularly Disney’s animated adaptation that made Mowgli and his animal companions famous. It’s hard to believe that since the appearance of the animated adventure, 49 years have already passed. Now, Mogli will return this year on April 14 to show hundreds of thousands of people the beauty and danger of Indian wildlife on the big screen. Also this year, Mowgli’s adventures are produced by Disney.

But this time, instead of animated coziness you will be shown exciting action. In fact, Disney’s second Jungle Book adaptation is a fulminant live-action adventure with incredible CGI special effects, which breathe life into the animals that also play an essential role in the Jungle Book. An incredible cast of stars gives the animal protagonists their voices.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as Mowgli’s wolf mother, Scarlett Johansson as the devious snake Kaa, Bill Murray as a bear Baloo and Ben Kingsley as Panter Baghira, each of them proves that Disney doesn’t spare expenses and efforts to make the Jungle Book a movie highlight. In addition, Christopher Walken doesn’t come across as a villain this time, but as Monkey King Louie. Instead, the role of the villain is taken over by talented British-African actor Idris Elba, who lends his voice to Shere Khan to support him in the fight against human intruders in the jungle.

We are very curious if the nostalgic charm of the animated adaptation of 1967 still has its worth in view of this action-packed scenes… In any case, it’s worth visiting the theaters to be enchanted by Mogli’s live-action adventure.
