Almost every little girl dreams at least once of her perfect wedding day. To capture those beautiful moments in which nothing else matters but to celebrate the love between two people, you don’t skimp on money or effort. Many couples hire whole camera teams and videographers to document every step of the bride and groom. The worst faux pas that could happen to the bride is actually to choose the wrong makeup for the day. What your friends and family might gladly overlook will most definitely be captured on camera.

Here are some tips regarding the choice of makeup for the big day that can help avoid beauty mistakes like a too light foundation, a shiny T-zone or a washed out face.

Leave your SPF at home.

Products that contain SPF are usually perfect as they protect your skin from the sun but they are not photograph-friendly at all. So I’d tell you to leave your foundations with SPF at home and opt for one that is free of it so you won’t risk a paled-out face in pictures.

A subtle Glow is beautiful, a shiny T-zone isn’t.

A shiny face is not cute, especially not on camera as it is unforgiving. A matte foundation or the obligatory powder to set everything is a must. The matter you can go, the better, even when it comes to eye shadows!

Colors, colors, colors.

Speaking of eye shadows: For once the saying should be: Less isn’t always more. The flashlight of the camera will completely wash you out; believe me. So feel free to dig a tad deeper into the color pot if you feel like it, just don’t overdo it. A nice trick is to do some test shoots at home to find out how much to actually put on the face for the big day!
