Can you feel the anticipation growing? Can you feel the excitement in the streets? I’m talking about the annual gigantic spectacle of the fashion scene – the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin! From 7th to 10th July, Berlin transforms once again into the capital city of fashion. We’ll be host to all kinds of stars and celebrities, ranging from those stemming from Germany to the international jetsetters from the worldwide fashion scene. The Brandenburg Gate is this year’s glamorous location. So, as they say, “let the show begin”.
This focus of this event lies not only on designers from Berlin and Germany, but also international labels that will be presenting their new collections. Here, it’s all about new looks. Many of the labels will hold true to that, exclusively flaunting their designs to the event’s guests during the course of the rapid runway shows.
From A for Achtland to Z for Zukker, an entire landscape of designers is represented here. Favourites of shopping queens such as Guido Maria Kretschmer, Julian Zigerli and Lala Berlin are obviously not to be missed out on. Others taking part in the event are Brachmann, c’est tout, Perret Schaad, Thomas Hanisch , Nihan Buruk and many, many more! Most of the designers are veteran participants of the show, and yet they still never fail to surprise us. Thomas Hanisch is THE newcomer of the fashion scene in Berlin, and it won’t be long until the stars sit up and take note of him. His imaginative fashion has the world under its spell – even Lady Gaga has been spotted donning a fashion piece from this young Berliner’s autumn and winter collection several times.
There will be a total of over 40(!) shows, all organised by Maybelline New York, a trendsetter in the field of makeup. Together with head make-up artist Boris Entrup they are responsible for the styling of the models, hence spicing up the event for the guests. You might even know Boris Entrup from his appearance on Germany’s Next Top Model.
Summer fashion will be professionally perfected in combination with matching make-up looks, allowing trends for 2016 to evolve into existence. Colourful and seductive fashion, sporty collections and the chance to experience elegance at home: this is the place to be!
