London seems to be a hotspot when it comes to modern and contemporary millinery. At least, we get the feeling that young milliners feel home in the British capital. I already introduced Aurora Ozma to you. This time, I’m going to present to you Awon Golding. The designer with English and Indian roots and born in Hong Kong is living and working in London today. There, she makes use of her multicultural background as the main source of inspiration for her creations. And it seems that with this strategy, she enjoys great success.

Before she founded her own label, she worked as a designer for trendy labels like River Island and Topshop. Now, she is establishing her own brand on the market and making herself a name. The spring and summer line is called headhunter and is inspired by the legendary Indian Tangkhul Naga tribe that is known for the now abandoned practice to decapitate their enemies. Feathers and beautiful patterned woven materials define the style considerably. The collection made of extravagant, broad-brimmed hats and pompous fascinator hat and is therefore  marked by diversity.

We caught sight of a model colored in black, white and red. Trust me, this piece will cause turmoil in the fashion world. Adorned by long fringes which display a caption saying “Headhunter”, you can be sure to attract lot of attention with this gem.

Another mesmerizing creation is called “Hombill” and consists of black and white feathers in a nearly random arrangement. They form a ring around the head and thus create a fairly avant-garde look for the daring and eccentric fashion addicts out there.

All in all, we can say that the hat collection offers elegant, avant-garde and extravagant creations for special occasions. Luscious colors and geometrical, futuristic shapes or golden, architecturally inspired constructions will transform you into the visual center of any situation.
