The Berlin label Glaw  is the epitome of urban femininity. The creative duo pulling the strings behind this brand consists of Jesko Wilke and Maria Poweleit. The two got to know each other during their studies at the international fashion university Esmod Berlin where they made the decision to pool both their creativity and passion. Glaw is marked by noble materials and sophisticated designs. Apart from high-quality leather and cashmere fashion, Glaw also offers jersey and silk products.

Above all, leather seems to be a crucial part in the fashion and is used for the winter as well as the summer collections. The latest collection is devoted to the summer 2015 – here you can discover different leather designs as well. The rocking leather pants and the short leather shirt or discreet leather accentuations in the design of a dress accompany the modern woman through the summer.

This very bold expressional material is complemented and opposed by soft, flowing and light fabrics like silk. Violet nuances, white and whine red are incorporated into the collection, forming a very strong contrast to timeless black. A contrast between rigid and soft emerges, which is best seen when comparing the light summer tunic with the rather rigid leather dress.

Everybody knows opposites attract. Glaw proves once again that casual chic can indeed look great with a rocking touch. The feminine silhouette is flattered beautifully on top of that. The mixture of rock ‘n’ roll and Bohemian is particularly visible in the maxi shirts and mini skirts marked by a sporty coolness. I personally prefer the black, transparent dress with metallic, shimmering flower motif. Yes, you can say that Glaw loves and lives urbanity.

In January, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will of course also host Glaw’s catwalk show presenting the winter collection 2015/2016. Don’t miss it!
