Imagine we’re living in the 41st century. The human kind is distributed over a huge galactic empire in millions and millions of different worlds and they all worship a godlike monarch called “Imperator”. Due to a lot of threats at every border, the army of said Imperator has to fight for the survival of humankind. But the threats aren’t waiting just beyond the border, they’re inside, too. Aliens, mutants and what’s even worse: heretics.

Those are the enemies of the holy inquisition. Like antibodies in a gigantic titan organism the inquisition proceeds to eradicate their opponents. This book tells a tale about one of those inquisitors and his path from he shall not stray. We get to know how he resists the omnipresent temptation to go a much darker path of life. The novel tells us a magnificent story written by Ian Watson about the protagonist’s doings and crimes, his friends and enemies, his loved ones and the ones, who leave him forever. The trains of thoughts were skillfully described and you get a glimpse into the soul of the utterly sorrowful man. Dark Sci-Fi scenarios were also included in “Inquisitor”. The book is definitely worth your time and I recommend ordering the whole volume at once.
