If you take the Underground and get off at Camden Town, you discover a whole different side to London. The station shares its name with the most popular market in the city!

When I paid Camden Market a visit, it was very crowded and I could smell food everywhere. Souvenir shops, snack bars, fashion shops and other stands were next to each other, and it became immediately obvious that I would have to take good care of my stuff and keep an eye on my friends at all times. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to find either of them again!

There was a huge variety in the clothes one could buy, as well as the food. There’s something for everybody here! However, I noticed that there were many gothic and vintage clothes stores. Also, there was a tattoo studio in every corner, just like in the hipster area that is Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Everyone was well dressed and covered in tattoos – I would love to live here! However, tourists can really be extremely annoying, even though I suppose I am one of them!

It got quieter around lunchtime, but when I got to the snack bars I realised where everybody had gone. It was almost impossible to find a free seat! People ended up sitting at the lakeside, or simply on random bicycle seats. That was pretty cool.

There’s no way you can see everything at the Camden Market – you’ll either be too full, out of money, or your feet will hurt like hell. The only way to enjoy all of it is to pay it several visits. The Camden Market is open every day until 6 pm (except for Christmas).
