The game publisher 2K Games and their developer Firaxis both announced that the new Civilization: Beyond Earth will be released on October 24th, 2014.
Civilization is a number of real-time-strategy games, where you have to conquer the world through different means. Some of them are completely destroying your fellow players through war or to be the first to achieve a scientific breakthrough. Civilization: Beyond Earth is going to stick to this popular concept.
As the name already tells us, the Civ sequel will take place in space. There’s a new and very complex scientific research web coming to us, as well as new units and even aliens! Moreover, in Civ: Beyond Earth you’ll be able to not just conquer a planet, but whole solar systems.
Pre-Ordering Civilization: Beyond Earth will get you an exclusive Exoplanet Map Pack DLC with six different maps which are inspired by real exoplanets.
I think that releasing the game in October is a bit risky, since this is when the top-selling game Battlefield is released. Furthermore, the Resident Evil Devs are coming back with a new game called The Evil Within this October as well.
However, I can tell you for sure that my money will be going to Civilization: Beyond Earth in that month.
