I’ve been an ingrained Civilization (CIV) fan ever since Sid Meier’s Civilization III and I’m used to seeing a new edition or another DLC every two to three years.

Each one of the parts has been so much fun and it is incredibly simple to learn for beginners. But, it’s like most other strategy games, thus it is pretty hard to eventually master the it.

As the game’s name already implies, the aim is to build a civilization. You’re starting with a settler, just one city. Next, you can play against others online or against an incredibly well programmed AI (Artificial Intelligence). It’s up to you how you want to win the game. You can get allied with all the players and try to get nominated as the world leader – or you’ll build up a huge army and nominate yourself as the world leader with lots and lots of war!

Of course, the game also works for pacifists: You can also win through scientific, economy including tourism and cultural maneuvers!

The new Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth will also be based on this idea. Now I’m wondering, are the gaming gods really on our side? I mean, how could they make a new game in such a short time!

And because earth is too mainstream by now, you’ll be playing in space in this CIV, far in the future! So if it’s not enough for you to conquer a whole world in CIV, you’ll soon be able to conquer multiple planets in CIV: Beyond Earth in the good old CIV fashion.
