In Berlin-Kreuzberg, it’s getting loud again. From May 8th to May 11th, more than 45 acts will burn the candle at both ends in Kreuzberg’s most beautiful and hippest clubs like Bi Nuu, Monarch (see picture above) and FluxBau. XJAZZ invites you to celebrate one particular music genre which hasn’t only united several music styles but also brought together millions of people worldwide – Jazz. During this club festival, which will take place for the first time this year, the young Berlin Jazz scene will present what it’s got. Furthermore, an intense interaction with Island, this year’s festival partner country, is on the agenda as this country is marked by a unique jazz culture.
Supported by modern jazz legends like Emilíana Torrini, Moritz von Oswald and Nils Petter Molvær, the XJAZZ offers a line-up which is more than just attractive. It sounds like music to your ears, doesn’t it? A great deal of diversity lies in the line-up. The artists even go beyond the borders of classic jazz. Genres like electro, classical music and indie characterize this avant-garde jazz music and emphasize this music genre’s unique characteristic: Jazz is a music genre which unifies different elements.
