There’s still no end in sight to the zombie hiatus. After several movie and television productions à la Hollywood, a number of novels and computer games, the next big thing is coming: The Zombie Run, an American sports event which is going to take place in Berlin on May 18th.
The Zombie Run is basically an obstacle course which covers over 5 km in length. The goal is to pass the finish line with at least one of three colored ribbons to advance into the stage of ‘survivals’. These ribbons represent the lives of the runners: When an undead snatches it away from a runner, the said participant is acknowledged as being infected.
15 hurdles must be overcome and let’s not forget the zombies!
If you apply for being a “Zombie” in the race, you will receive a transformation from professional make-up artists. With just as much detail, they set up and organize the obstacles. So it can happen that a runner has to pass a pool of ‘blood’ and fight their way through mud pits and labyrinths. Stamina, skill and the ability to do the right decisions are essential for this adventure.
All this bloody action is intensified with sound and special effect. As if that’s not enough, after the run there’s a after party in which the undead and the runners party into the night. The number of participants is limited, so you better reserve a ticket right now!
