Hello there Beauties.

Today, I would really like to talk about something which doesn’t have anything to do with Asian beauty standards. Instead this particular topic could be of interest to all of you.

Yes, you can get inspired wherever and whenever. Sometimes an idea for a new article strikes me while reading a book or even whilst strolling around the supermarket. Today’s article probably came to existence when was showering.

I just couldn’t quite shake off one thought. I was trying to think why people say you needed to have a cold shower to enhance your beauty. It didn’t leave me alone, which is why I had to do some research and apparently a cold shower can have really nice benefits for our overall well-being. I thought I would share my new-found knowledge with you.

A cold shower beautifies our skin and hair

If you are amongst those, who love a hot shower you may have noticed that your skin seems to dry out longer you are actually in the shower. Man, I love hot showers. But the hot steam literally pulls the moisture out of our skin. The result? Dry hair and sometimes even really bad dandruff problem. Cold showers, however, do the opposite thing. The coldness will close our pores and hair cuticles and thus prevents wrinkles and damaged hair.

That does sound promising but what else are cold showers good for?

Well, cold showers supposedly burn fat.

Lower temperatures burn fat cells. According to a study conducted by the University of Maastricht, cold showers can increase the combustion value of brown fat cells. Those cells are responsible to convert fat into energy, which means the end of white fat cells thanks to cold showers – well, maybe. We all know that there are no magic cures when it comes to losing weight.

Additionally, cold showers do tend to help the regeneration process for all of you fitness bunnies out there. We all dread muscle ache that lasts for days after exercising intensively. But to prevent that just hop into a cold shower right after your workout and you’re good to go.

As you can see, the occasional cold shower can be a real allrounder when it comes to our beauty and health.

Yours truly,

Lana
